Opening standard documents in Microsoft Teams
This new feature allows users to set a default browser when opening Office files (Word, Excel and Power Point) shared in Microsoft Teams.
The desktop setting can be selected if the user has Office version 16 or newer installed and activated.
Targeted release date: end of July 2021
Standard release date: August 2021
If you want to change your default setting, go to your profile picture and select Settings > General > There is a drop-down menu where you can choose between Teams, Desktop app and Browser.
