Earlier, Microsoft announced it was pulling the plug on OneNote 2016 still this year. Given the high demand, they have postponed this deadline.
Rightly so, because some features are not in OneNote for Windows 10.

What is the difference between OneNote 2016 and OneNote?
OneNote 2016 has deeper integrations with Outlook. For example, if you want to keep the attendee list in a veg meeting in your OneNote.
OneNote is deeply integrated into Microsoft's online eco-system.
Tasks can't in OneNote, can in OneNote 2016. Maybe not a modern way either since Microsoft Planner and TODO.
How to install OneNote 2016.

Click on Office Apps
Press install Office
Install the Office Suite.
Installing OneNote 2016 with Intune
Browse to endpoint.microsoft.com
In EndPoint manager, turn on Office 2016 via this blog.
