Saving files in OneNote 2016 or OneNote for Windows 10

Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Office files can be saved to OneNote almost automatically. Why print files to OneNote? Because you can put them in logical categories. You can tag them, and the searchability of OneNote is higher than static documents on your hard disk.

In this blog I will explain how you can save files using the print option. If you want to work fast and don't want to lose any time, you can use CTRL-P to write documents to a standard location.

Open Excel, Word or PowerPoint

Open an existing file or create a new one.

Press File, Print

In this step you will save your file in OneNote 2016 or OneNote for Windows 10.

Select OneNote

You can use both versions. OneNote 2016 or OneNote for Windows 10. The old OneNote 2016 will remain supported until 2023.

OneNote for Windows 10

Select in which category your document should be savedand press OK.

Would you rather work with OneNote 2016?

With OneNote 2016 you have exactly the same possibility. You can always enable Send print to selected location to quickly print files to your OneNote via CTRL-P.
